About Jeremy Travis

Jeremy Travis, President of John Jay College of Criminal Justice, is a leading national figure. He has directed the National Institute of Justice, chaired National Research Council’s Committee on Law and Justice, and chaired the Task Force on Transforming Juvenile Justice. As a Senior Fellow affiliated with the Justice Policy Center at the Urban Institute, Travis launched a national research program focused on prisoner reentry into society. He’s the author of several books, including Prisoners Once Removed (2004), and numerous book chapters, articles and monographs on prisoner reentry, constitutional law, criminal law and criminal justice policy.
